Testimonials

I came to the Step Up Inn after a 3 month stay at an inpatient rehab facility. I stayed for a total of 9 months before successfully transitioning back to the real world. Step Up Inn became my home and the people there became my family. This house gave me the structure and support I needed to continue in my recovery after rehab. In October I became the assistant house manager and in December I became the house manager. Being given the opportunity to be in these positions allowed me recognize, utilize and build on my leadership skills and practice responsibilities that I was able to transfer to the real world. I have been clean over a year now and without the continued support from the staff and other residents at Step Up Inn I would not have made it this far. I owe my life to this home. I am forever grateful to Step Up Inn.

My experience at step up Inn is lovely. I have been treated with nothing but respect by the house manager, the property manager and as well as the house owners. I came door to door from a 90 day stay at Highwatch recovery. I truly believe I couldn’t have made a better decision in choosing somewhere to come after. The residents in the house support each other through everything. There has not been one day where I have felt alone in this house, which is an easy thing for any person in addiction to do. The structure of the house allows me to be accountable for my sobriety. Step Up Inn feels more like a home rather than a transitional house. There is always laughter and smiles filling the house. I do have to say the house manager really puts heart into us all, giving back what’s been given so freely and that right there is the epitome of our program!

I came to step up inn 5 months ago after a 3 month inpatient treatment, i immediately felt welcomed from the house manager and other residents here. The house was made to feel like a home and everyone is supportive and encouraging. Without the home, i don’t know if i would be sober today. Step up inn gave me the accountability i needed with daily check ins, and a mandatory meeting schedule. I’ve also been able to attend family court and work on steps to get my children back. I consider this place my home and the other residents my family.

I have been in the home for almost 4 months now, and it has been a very safe and loving environment. I did not want to go to a sober living home at all, but had no other choice. One I arrived at Step Up Inn, I was happy to be in the home with so many amazing people and have stayed longer than I had even had in mind. The people are so supportive and it is a great place to find yourself and keep yourself on the right track of getting sober.

I came to Step Up Inn straight out of a 30 day treatment program in Connecticut. I have to admit I was very hesitant that sober living was even recommended to me by continuing care. I just wanted to leave treatment and get on with my life. However, this is my first attempt at getting sober and I honestly don’t think I would be clean today if it wasn’t for this house. I’ve been here for over two months and feel I have grown as a person in more ways than one. This house is so welcoming and I would be lost without this wonderful group of people. I’ve made some real and lasting friendships with a lot of the people in this house. I recently got a job back in my hometown so I will be moving back in with my parents at the end of the month. I feel ready to re-enter the “real world” and will cherish this time of my life forever.

I came from a three month treatment program out in California, with a plan to move back east with family after my treatment was completed. It was difficult to locate a sober living facility that seemed supportive and safe, so I was relieved when my counselor finally found the step up inn. I have been here almost two months and have found warmth, community, comfort, love/friendships, and hope. This is my fourth attempt at getting sober, and I came here to go to any lengths to stay sober this time around. I recommend this program for anyone who wants to take those extra measures to increase their chances of recovery. The step up inn has helped me and given me many tools so that I will feel confident transitioning to life outside of the house when I am ready to do so.

I went to silver hill and before leaving I was planning to go home. Silver hill had suggested I go to a dry home for a little while. At first I was hesitant, if I was going to not be going back to my apartment in Nyc it I would need major convincing. I had looked at other places in the state and nothing was up to par except step up inn. I arrived at Step Up Inn to a beautiful home, with fresh fruit, welcomed by an amazing person I am happy to call my friend today. My months spent here has been absolutely wonderful filled with love & joy. This place is like staying at four seasons with a manager who truly cares. Would recommend to anyone.
